- Hi!
-
- I recently acquired a non-functional C64G (the one with grey breadbox-like
- case and narrow motherboard). I traced a faulty 6526A, which I replaced,
- until I noticed that the RAM chips (D41464-12) got REALLY hot.
- So now I need new chips, but those are hard to find here. I'd get plenty
- of 41256s, would they fit aswell? Or any other chips (my friend has
- many old PC-boards)?
-
- And, finally, if the new RAM chips don't help, where could the fault
- be then? (On that big chip in the middle of the board? AAARRGH!)
- When I turn on the machine, the screen stays black and the datassette
- motor keeps running.
-
- Thanks,
- -Miika
